NANGU CHOROTEGA

ARTISAN & CULTURAL REVIVAL PROJECT

Matambú is one of the 24 Costa Rican indigenous territories of the 8 indigenous tribes and is the only one in which it recognizes a direct link with the ancient Chorotegas.

Nangu Chorotega would like to improve the operation and structure of their facilities, with the following priorities:

● Acquire computer and projector to give presentations to visitors

● A souvenir shop to exhibit craft products

● Improve the kitchen facilities

● Build a platform to make a lookout

● Purchase of 6 horses to go on tours with the community visitors

● Build 2 cabins equipped with all the necessary conditions to provide lodging

This project will be a catalyst for the customs and cultural traditions of the ancient Chorotega region to thrive, eventually leading to further acquisition of land to be protected from commercial interest and investment.
